Effort Grade

Description of Behaviour

1


Outstanding

The student has always demonstrated the following behaviours:
- A timely submission of all homework and projects,
- An ongoing effort to always produce quality work (projects, homework, assessments,   course notes)
- An active and continuous participation in one’s learning,
- A continual collaboration with one’s teacher (s) and peers.

Very Good

The student has had some minor shortcomings in relation to one or two of the following behaviours indicated with an asterisk * and exemplary behaviour (level 1) for the last one:
* An ongoing effort to always produce quality work (projects, homework, assessments, notes)
* An active and continuous participation in learning,
* A timely submission of all work and duties,
- A continuous collaboration with one’s teacher (s) and peers.
examples of minor lapses:
- An assignment or a small percentage of homework (10%) are partially completed (understanding) or fully completed, but with a lack of attention.
- The student must be called to order occasionally (-15%) during the term, either to be more attentive or to improve their participation in the class, and thereby improve their involvement in their learning.
- Hand in work late (next day) for less than 10% of total.
-The student occasionally forgets their classroom materials (-10% of total).

Sufficient

The student has had some minor lapses relating to more than two of the following behaviours:
- An ongoing effort to always produce quality work (projects, homework, evaluations, notes)
- An active and constant participation in learning,
- A timely submission of all work and assignments,
- A continuous collaboration with teacher (s).
examples of minor lapses:-Occasional lack of cooperation with his team (-20%)
-Slow, or reluctant to follow the instructions of his teacher (20%)
- An assignment or a small percentage of homework (20%) are partially completed (understanding) or fully completed, but with a lack of attention
-The student must be called to order occasionally (-20%) during the term, either to be more attentive or to improve their participation in the class; and thereby improve their involvement in their learning.
-Hand in work late (next day), for less than 20% of assignments / homework
-The student occasionally forgets their classroom materials (-20% of total).

Insufficient

The student has demonstrated some significant shortcomings related to one or two of the following behaviours:

* An ongoing effort to always produce quality work (projects, homework, assessments, notes)
* An active and continuous participation in learning,
* A timely submission of all work and duties,
- A continuous collaboration with one’s teacher (s) and peers.

examples of  significant shortcomings:-Lack of cooperation with his team (25%)
- Repeated reluctance to follow the instructions of his teacher (25%)
- An assignment or a certain percentage of homework (25%) were partially completed (understanding) or fully completed, but with a lack of attention.
-More than 20% of assigned homework is incomplete.

-The student must be called to order several times (+ 30%) during the term, either to be more attentive or to improve their participation in the class; and thereby improve their involvement in their learning.
-Hand in work late (several days) for less than 10% of assignments / homework or regularly unable to meet deadlines (+ 30%).

Unacceptable

The student has demonstrated some significant shortcomings relatedto the following behaviours more than twice:

- An ongoing effort to always produce quality work (projects, homework, assessments, notes)
- An active and continuous participation in learning,
- A timely submission of all work and duties,
- A continuous collaboration with one’s teacher (s) and peers.

examples of significant shortcomings:-Lack of cooperation with his team (+25%)
- Repeated reluctance to follow the instructions of his teacher (+25%)
- An assignment or a certain percentage of homework (+25%) were partially completed (understanding) or fully completed, but with a lack of attention.
-More than 20% of assigned homework is incomplete.

-The student must constantly (+50%) be called to order during the term, either to be more attentive or to improve their participation in the class, and thereby improve their involvement in their learning.
-Hand in work late (several days) for less than 10% of assignments / homework  or regularly unable to meet deadlines (+ 30%).
